Agreement

These terms are an agreement between you and Siphon Music and Games, LLC ("we"), a New York company at 263 S 4th St #110161, Brooklyn, NY 11211, which runs Page Turn. By using Page Turn you accept these terms and our Privacy Policy; account holders accept them by ticking the box when signing up. Publishing also requires accepting our publisher terms. The Page Turn Editor has its own licence.

Eligibility

You must be 13 or older to make an account and 18 or older to publish.

Accounts

You sign in with a link we email you, so keep your email account secure. Don't interfere with Page Turn or anyone else's account. You can close your account at any time from the account page. We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms or put others at risk.

What you publish

You keep ownership of what you publish, including stories, pen names and blurbs. You give us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, copy, display, distribute and reformat it, only to run Page Turn. The licence ends when you remove it, except for backups kept for a reasonable time, copies the law requires us to keep, and uses made before removal. You promise you have the right to publish it.

Copyright

To report infringement or send a counter-notice, see our copyright page. We remove material identified in a valid notice. We keep a separate count of copyright takedowns. An account that receives repeated valid copyright notices loses publishing privileges, and in appropriate circumstances the account is closed.

Keeping Page Turn safe

What may be published is set by our Content Guidelines, which every publisher agrees to. People, not automated tools, make every decision to take something down or put a warning on it.

• Reports. Use a story's Report option, or email support@pageturn.game with "Removal request" in the subject (more on reporting). We review every report promptly.
• Illegal content. Terrorist content, child sexual abuse and exploitation, and any other illegal content come down as soon as we find them, whether from a report or otherwise. We report child sexual abuse material as the law requires, and close accounts run for terrorist organisations.
• Children. Accounts are for ages 13 and up: we ask for a date of birth when an account is made and refuse anyone younger. Anyone can read without an account. The Content Guidelines apply everywhere on Page Turn, for readers of every age, including their rules on sexual content (rule 2) and on suicide, self-harm and eating disorders (rule 12); a story that breaks them comes down. Where the Guidelines allow something that could still harm younger readers, such as violence, and a review finds a story goes too far for them, we add a warning every reader sees before opening it.
• Appeals. If we take your story down or put a warning on it, you can ask us to look again: reply to our email or write to support@pageturn.game. If we got it wrong, we put it back or remove the warning.
• Complaints. Write to support@pageturn.game about anything else, including if you think we aren't meeting our legal duties to keep people safe. We reply within 14 days.
• Accessibility. If anything on Page Turn is hard to use with a screen reader, keyboard or other assistive technology, tell us at support@pageturn.game.

Money

Page Turn isn't monetized yet: nothing is sold, and creators aren't paid. When creators can earn from their stories, those who want to will add their payment details and agree to terms for it at that time. Any coins, subscriptions or gifts shown in your account are granted by us, have no cash value, can't be transferred or exchanged, and may be withdrawn at any time.

No warranties

Page Turn is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind. Stories are written by independent creators and may change or disappear, and saves may be lost. We may change or stop any part of Page Turn at any time.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost data. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the greater of what you paid us in the previous 12 months or US$50. This does not limit liability for our intentional misconduct or gross negligence, or anything else the law does not allow us to limit.

Disputes

New York law governs these terms. Disputes go to the state or federal courts in New York, or to small-claims court where eligible. Nothing here removes rights your local consumer law gives you.

Parental controls

Parental control protections, such as computer hardware, software or filtering services, are commercially available and may help limit access to material harmful to minors. The US Federal Trade Commission describes them and names providers.

Changes

We may update these terms; the date above will change. We'll notify account holders of significant changes and may ask them to accept again. Using Page Turn after a change means you accept it.

General

These terms, the Privacy Policy and, if you publish, the publisher terms are the entire agreement between us. If any part is unenforceable, the rest stands. Not enforcing a term isn't a waiver. You may not transfer this agreement; we may transfer it to whoever runs Page Turn after us.
